Key results of the STRENGTH project

1. Analysis of the European Digital Competence Framework

The European Digital Competence Framework (DigComp) was analysed in four EU countries, with a focus on its relevance for educationally disadvantaged women with migration backgrounds who are beginners in the second language of their new country of residence. The analysis is available in English. (see link https://doi.org/10.58926/orp.2024.1.14)

2. Development of digital learning objectives and materials

  • A target group survey provided valuable insights for the design of digital learning content.
  • The DigComp indicators were adapted to the specific needs of the target group.
  • Methodological-didactic concepts, criteria and recommendations for digital learning were developed.
  • Initial learning arrangements were tested by trainers and participants.

3. Creation of digital exercises

Over 300 free digital exercises were developed for women with a migration background. These cover topics such as social integration, professional integration, language training and basic digital skills (see link https://strengthwomen.eu/en/learners/). Accompanying materials support adult educators in applying the content (see link https://strengthwomen.eu/en/adult-educators/)

4. Development of a training curriculum

A practical curriculum was developed to qualify adult educators in working with women with a migration background. It covers topics such as basic education, language courses or other training programmes geared towards social and professional integration. (see link https://strengthwomen.eu/en/curriculum/)
